LAS POSITAS VINEYARDS

Brent grew up in El Dorado county, and some of his best memories are of running through vineyards as a kid while his parents were wine tasting. While studying Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona, these fond memories kept re-surfacing, and he quickly realized that wine is where his future lay. So it was that at the ripe old age of 20, he started his wine career as a harvest worker for Ferrari Carano Winery in 2000. He stayed on for a year as a cellar worker, then went to Fresno State to finish his degree. After graduating in 2003 with an Enology degree, he returned to Sonoma county to work as Enologist for Fritz Winery. In 2005, he made the move to Livermore to become Winemaker for Fenestra Winery. In 2013, Brent left Fenestra to become Winemaker for Las Positas Vineyards, just a few miles down the road.

The Las Positas take on the LVVC project

"LVVC is about collaboration, about different personalities coming together to create a unified, yet individual expression of Livermore (wine).

By establishing guidelines, we can exhibit our own individual styles, while working together to craft a wine that reflects the zeitgeist of the Livermore Valley wine industry.

The 2017 Las Positas LVVC is fruity and rich, with firm structure and bright acidity that will allow it to age gracefully."

Brent Amos - Winemaker
